National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute performed a five-year study that revealed participants’ risk of heart disease was increased when they didn’t have a regular sleeping schedule. A second study revealed that irregular sleep could also cause metabolic diseases such as diabetes, obesity and high cholesterol.

A circadian rhythm that is irregular and not enough deep sleep can lead to inflammation in your entire body. More inflammation can have a negative impact on your health. You can have a higher risk of a heartattack. It can increase your risk of having a heart attack.

Healthy Sleep Hygiene Habits

You can regulate your sleep patterns in several ways. You should always go to sleep at the same hour every night, and get up at the exact same time each morning, including weekends. Keep a consistent schedule for your work that allows you to sleep at night and be awake during the daylight hours. It’s okay to nap every day, but make sure you nap at the same time each day.

Sleeping regularly can help reduce your risk for heart disease and an attack. Ask your doctor what else you can do to prevent heart disease and heart attacks.
