Colon Cancer Symptoms and Signs

by admin

Colon cancer can strike anyone at any age. However, older adults have a higher risk. Knowing the symptoms is crucial to getting a screening done and starting treatment as soon you can.

One of the symptoms to watch out for is feeling very tired. If you notice a drop in energy, this could be due to a number of different issues. It is important to speak to your doctor about it, even if it is not colon cancer.

Blood in the Stool or Rectal Bleeding is another symptom. Blood or dark colored stool, which could be indicative of internal blood, may be a sign that you have colon cancer. This could also be a sign of hemorrhoids or other problems. However, if this is happening to you, talk to your doctor to find out what’s causing it.

Constant abdominal pain may indicate that colon cancer screening is necessary. This pain may manifest as severe bloating or cramps, but it can also lead to pelvic pain.

Unintentional Weight Loss is another major symptom for colon cancer. You should consult a doctor if you lose weight unintentionally. If it is 8 lbs. or more, in less than 6 months. This symptom can be caused by many things, including colon cancer.

No matter what your age, you should consult your doctor if you experience these symptoms. It is especially important if you’re an older adult as colon cancer has the highest incidence rate among older adults
